Effects of isokinetic rehabilitation exercise on the muscular function in patient with anterior instability of the shoulder

Abstract
The purpose of this case study is to investigate the effects of isokinetic rehabilitation exercise on the muscular function in patient with anterior instability of the shoulder. The subject of this study is a 23-year-male who was experiencing difficulties with sports game due to anterior shoulder instability caused resulting in symptomatic episodes of subluxations. He came to the hospital in September 2007. Before isokinetic exercise test, MRI test showed that he has verified safe of
exercise. Isokinetic tests were processed by 60¢ª£¯sec, 180¢ª£¯sec, 240¢ª£¯sec for extention/fletion, horijontal abduction/adduction, and internal rotation/external rotation. Rehabilitation exercise program treated isokinetic exercise and aerobic training 3~5 times a week for 5 months to adjust his daily life¡¯s routine. After 5 months of isokinetic rehabilitation exercise, ROM increased active ranges of joint motions, and produced muscular function significantly in all. The patient was able to achieve target exercise through 5 months of life habit improvement. He hasn¡¯t felt discomfort anymore from the shoulder during sports games since then.
